Speaking Engagements

The unique opportunity of becoming county beef queen made me realize my passion for communication and public speaking specifically within the cattle and agricultural industries. As beef queen, I communicated with consumers and producers of the cattle industry. I visited grocery stores and local community events to promote a delicious and healthy product. At the end of my reign, I gave a retiring address regarding the issues surrounding the beef industry in our country and around the world. I realized that night the impact my words had on the audience of over 300 people as I received a standing ovation. I continued giving this speech, placing first in the Prepared Public Speaking contest in my sub-district, advancing to districts, and received alternate state honors at the district competition. Public speaking and speaking engagement is a strong and passionate topic for me and is something I would love to continue to do for future employers. I believe sharing the stories of others is the most important job of an agricultural communicator.
